HimValley is a homestay booking platform connecting travellers with verified hosts in Himachal Pradesh, India.
By creating an account, making a booking, listing a HomeStay or otherwise using the Website, you agree to this Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Website.
1. Who we are

2. Information we collect
- Account details: name, email, phone number, password and, for hosts, business or homestay name.
- Booking details: stay dates, number of guests, property booked, special requests and payment-related records.
- Host and listing details: property location, photos, amenities, house rules, HomeStay Certificate and verification files you upload.
- Messages: enquiries, reviews and support conversations, including those sent by email, phone or WhatsApp when you choose those channels.
- Technical data: IP address, browser type, device, pages visited and approximate location derived from IP, used to run and secure the Website.
We do not require you to browse the public Website as a logged-in user. Some features (booking, hosting, payouts) cannot work without the details above.
3. How we use information
- Create and manage guest, host and admin accounts.
- Process bookings, cancellations, refunds and host payouts.
- Show published HomeStays and locations to travellers.
- Verify hosts and listings before they go live.
- Send booking confirmations, reminders and service messages.
- Send optional WhatsApp or SMS updates where you have provided a number and we are permitted to contact you.
- Improve the Website, prevent fraud and comply with Indian law.
4. Sharing of information
We share information only as needed to operate HimValley:
- Hosts and guests: a confirmed booking shares the names, stay dates, guest count and contact details needed for check-in.
- Payment providers and banks: to collect payment or send host payouts.
- Service partners: hosting, email, SMS/WhatsApp and maps providers who process data on our instructions.
- Authorities: when required by law or to protect guests, hosts or HimValley.
We do not sell your personal information.
5. Cookies and similar tools
We use cookies and similar technologies for login sessions, language and currency, security and basic analytics. You can block cookies in your browser; some features may then stop working.
6. Storage and security
Data is stored on systems we operate or that our processors operate for us. We keep it only as long as needed for bookings, accounting, dispute handling and legal requirements. We use reasonable technical and organisational measures, but no website can guarantee absolute security.
7. Your choices
- Update your profile, password and contact details from your account.
- Ask us to correct or delete information that is no longer needed, subject to booking and legal records we must retain.
- Unsubscribe from marketing emails using the link in the message, or by writing to support. Transactional booking messages will still be sent.
8. Children
The Website is intended for adults making travel or hosting arrangements. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children for their own accounts.
